Freshman Rep. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) and Rep. Ami Bera (D-Calif.) will propose legislation that applies the sequester to congressional pay as soon as constitutionally possible, which means in the next Congress. The bill would apply an 8.2 percent cut to member pay, the same cut being made to discretionary spending under the sequester.
