Congressman Ami Bera, M.D., applauds today’s announcement that local manufacturer Siemens won the contract to produce San Francisco Muni’s new light rail vehicles. This $648 million contract represents one of the largest light rail contract ever awarded in the U.S.
He made the following comment:
“Today’s announcement is incredibly exciting and a big win for Sacramento County. This is great example of a public private partnership that builds and improves our infrastructure while also creating new jobs in our region, and we need to continue to make investing in infrastructure a priority to spur our local economic growth."
