Email update: Exciting news for Sacramento County
I sent an email update on Friday to share some good news about a project that will help give our local economy a boost. Join my email updates now so you don't miss any in the future!
I wanted to share some great news with you about a new project that will help give our local economy a boost. Here’s an update on that and some of my other latest work around Sacramento County:
Secured Nearly $800,000 for Infrastructure Upgrades at Mather Airport
We need to get back to the bipartisan American tradition of investing in our future. Rebuilding our infrastructure – whether our roads, bridges, or levees – is a key part of reinvigorating our economy. This will not only create jobs today, but will also lay the foundation for a more efficient economy to support a strong middle class.
That’s why I’m pleased to announce that my office helped secure nearly $800,000 in investments for crucial upgrades at Mather airport. Please click here to learn more about it.
Improving Mather's runway and safety is great news for our community. It's crucial for attracting, maintaining, and expanding economic development in our area.
Making our airport more convenient and efficient to passengers and businesses will have a positive impact on our community and economy.
In America, both parties have to get back to dreaming big and building big things to invest in our future. Years ago, Democratic President Franklin Roosevelt helped bring us out of the Great Depression with projects like the Hoover Dam. Republican President Eisenhower continued this bipartisan commitment by building our interstate highway system. Rebuilding our infrastructure is essential for growing Sacramento County’s economy.

Making Government Work for Sacramento County
I’ve been privileged to hear from local families, business owners, and students in our area recently. Listening to you is my most important job, because I have the honor of representing you in our nation’s capital.
I was glad to catch up with some terrific local parents and families at Super Parent Day in Elk Grove. This event recognizes dedicated parents who not only do a great job of raising their kids, but also contribute to making our community a better place. I was glad to present them with official congressional certificates from my office to help honor their great work.
I also had the pleasure of addressing a Fair Oaks Chamber of Commerce luncheon. This was a chance to hear ideas from local business leaders on how we can move our economy forward, and to give an update on my latest work to help businesses succeed.
My office is here to connect area businesses with resources they can use to grow and hire. If you or someone you know is a local business owner, please visit my Help for Businesses page to learn more about how we can serve you.
Please feel free to Like my Facebook page to stay updated on my latest work in our community.
Helping You: Upcoming Office Hours
It was great to hear from local folks at our recent office hours at the Fair Oaks library. We regularly hold office hours at community libraries so we can more conveniently serve you in your own neighborhood.
We’re here to help you with backlogged veterans’ benefits, Social Security and Medicare issues, and more. We’ve now helped return more than $3.2 million local taxpayers and we’d be honored to serve you, too.
My staff will hold our next office hours on Wednesday, August 3rd at the Orangevale library on 8820 Greenback Lane from 10 AM to noon. If you are having an issue with the federal government, please consider dropping by. You’re also always welcome to call us at (916) 635 0505 or visitbera.house.gov/gethelp to get help right away.

Congress should be a place for service, not career politicians who only look out for their own best interests. As always, please feel free to contact me to share your views or to ask a question.
Ami Bera, M.D.
Member of Congress
P.S. Your thoughtful suggestions always help my office do a better job of serving you.
Listening to you is my most important job. Thank you for taking a moment to share your thoughts.
