I sent an email update on Wednesday to commemorate Memorial Day Weekend and to share how my office can help serve local veterans. Join my email updates now so you don't miss any in the future!

Over the past several years, thousands of families have experienced a tragedy that’s too difficult for any spouse, child, or parent to even think about. That’s the tragedy of losing of a loved one who’s serving in our nation’s armed forces.

As a doctor who’s helped care for our veterans, I’ve seen their sacrifices firsthand. Our men and women in uniform are the most hardworking, dedicated, and talented people our country has to offer. And unfortunately, many Americans - from World War II to the War in Afghanistan - have made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation.

So as we remember the fallen on this upcoming Memorial Day Weekend, let us honor their memory by ensuring our veterans can access the support and opportunities they’ve rightly earned. After all they’ve sacrificed for us, they deserve nothing less than our unwavering support.

Please click here to visit my Help for Veterans page to see how my office can serve veterans. We’ve already helped local veterans recover more than $1.8 million in earned benefits that they were owed and we’d be honored to help you too.

The high rates of unemployment and homelessness among veterans are unacceptable. And it’s troubling that many veterans face long wait times to access their hard-earned benefits and how unnecessary bureaucracy is often to blame for delaying their access to quality medical care. We must simply do a better job of supporting our men and women in uniform.

That’s why I’ve directed my local office to do all that it can to help Sacramento County veterans. I’ve hired a Wounded Warrior Iraq War veteran and my team is here to help veterans cut through red tape with backlogged benefits, health care, and more. If you or someone you know needs help, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Please visit my Help for Veterans page to learn more or call us at (916) 635 0505.

As always, please feel free to contact me to share your thoughts. It’s an honor and privilege to serve you.

Be well,

Ami Bera, M.D.
