Medicare Open Enrollment Ends Saturday
If you’re a senior on Medicare, don’t forget that open enrollment ends on Saturday, December 7th.
Open enrollment is your chance to change your Medicare health plan and your prescription drug coverage for 2014 if you want to.
Had a great visit at the Elk Grove Senior Center last week to discuss my work
If you’re satisfied with your current Medicare coverage, don’t worry – you don’t have to do anything.
But if you’re interested in exploring your options, you can visit Medicare.gov or call 1-800-MEDICARE to get more information on the plans that may be available to you.
My staff and I are also ready to help you during Medicare open enrollment period.
Please feel free to call us for assistance at (916) 635 0505 or visit bera.house.gov/gethelp.
Next Library Office Hours: Wednesday, December 11th
I’m working hard to try to make government work for you. My staff and I can help you with issues involving federal agencies. For instance, we can help veterans receive backlogged VA benefits, assist seniors with Social Security and Medicare, or even help you get a stalled passport.
If you need help with a federal agency, please drop by our Library Office Hours at the Southgate Branch Library on Wednesday, December 11th, between 1 pm and 4 pm, so my staff can help you. It’s located at 6132 66th Avenue in Florin.
My office held its first Library Office Hours in Orangevale, and we’re
continuing to hold more to help you access the services you have a right
My staff holds office hours at local libraries throughout Sacramento County regularly so that we can be available in more convenient locations to serve you.

Computer Science Education Week – Share your story
Supporting education in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) is vital to helping foster the innovative industries that can rebuild our nation’s economy and bring jobs Sacramento County.
That’s why I hope you will help me recognize Sacramento County’s outstanding contributors to computer science and STEM education by celebrating Computer Science Education Week.
I recently toured San Juan High School, where students can specialize in
a variety of high tech and cutting edge fields to prepare for new jobs.
From December 9th through the 15th, I’ll share your photos and stories on Facebook and Twitter about how you, your class, or your business is promoting computer science education throughout the year.
As a member of the Science, Space, and Technology Committee, I’m committed to making sure our young people are prepared for the jobs of the future.
Please send in your photos & stories for Computer Science Education Week to firstname.lastname@example.org
You can also always give us a call at (916) 635 0505 or visit bera.house.gov/gethelp if you need assistance right away. And as always, please call or write to me to share your views. My door is always open.
