Ami's Updates

Quick Update:

Here's a quick update on the work my team and I are doing to serve our community.

Coronavirus Update:

While the threat of the coronavirus is relatively low in the United States at this time, we must be vigilant and prepared.

That's why I hosted the first congressional hearing on the coronavirus outbreak this month. We hosted expert health officials who discussed how the U.S. can best respond to this growing public health threat.

As the former chief medical officer of Sacramento County, I understand we must take every necessary step to ensure the health and safety of all Americans. I'll continue to be a leader in Congress on this issue, and ensure the Administration has all the right resources to keep our communities safe.

Honoring our Korean War Veterans:

Last month, I was honored to hold a ceremony at the California state capitol for Korean War veterans from the Sacramento area. I was joined by, the South Korean Ambassador to the United States, Lee Soo Yyuck, who presented our veterans with the Ambassador for Peace Medal.

I'm committed to honoring the sacrifice of our veterans, including those from the Korean War. It's important that they know we haven't forgotten their service, and that our nation is eternally grateful.

Please know that my office is here to serve our heroes however we can. If you need assistance, please call us at (916) 635-0505 or visit bera.house.gov/helpforvets.

$7 Million Recovered for Local Taxpayers:

I wanted to send you some great news. My office has officially helped recover over $7,000,000 in taxpayer dollars. That's hard-earned money right back into the pockets of Sacramento families, helping our region's economy.

Please remember that my office is here to help you cut through bureaucracy with the federal government. That includes help with Social Security and Medicare issues, backlogged veterans' benefits, stalled tax refunds, and more. Need help with a federal agency? Visit our website or call us at (916) 635-0505.

My greatest privilege is to represent you in Congress. I'm proud of the work we've done this year, but there's a lot more work to do. You can keep up with me on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

And please always feel free to contact my office to share your thoughts – democracy works best when we keep in touch.
