Both internship programs run throughout the fall, spring or summer semesters. Students will gain invaluable work experience in both our D.C. and Sacramento offices. The hours are flexible to accommodate students' course schedules, but generally run 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Washington D.C.
Intern duties include, but are not limited to, answering phone calls, attending briefings and hearings, conducting tours of the Capitol building, researching legislation and drafting memos for the Congressman, constituent correspondence, and various day-to-day office tasks. Sacramento County, CA
District office intern duties include, but are not limited to, answering phones, drafting constituent letters, attending and helping plan events within the district, assisting with constituent casework, and working on district-related projects. Applicants should possess excellent written and oral communication, and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
