Today, Rep. Ami Bera (D-CA) was elected ranking member of the Space Subcommittee of the House Committee on Science, Space and Technology. Bera has served on the subcommittee since being elected in 2013 to the 113th Congress. "As a kid who grew up during the height of the space race dreaming of what lay beyond us, it's an honor to be selected to serve as the ranking member for the Subcommittee on Space," said Rep. Bera. "I look forward to working with my colleagues to continue our nation's leading tradition of innovation in space for the 115th Congress." California is home to some of the world's leaders in the aerospace industry, including Aerojet Rocketdyne in Rancho Cordova, inside California's 7th Congressional district, and NASA research facilities across the state.
