Rep. Ami Bera (D-CA), Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations and Co-Chair of the bipartisan Congressional Study Group on Korea, concluded a week-long trip to the Republic of Korea (ROK). "This bipartisan delegation trip to South Korea gave me a unique opportunity to gain insights into the foreign policy, defense, and trade issues facing the Korean peninsula and the broader region," said Rep. Bera. "I enjoyed meeting with senior government officials, my counterparts in the National Assembly, and civil society leaders to discuss the special and important partnership between the US and South Korea. Our friendship and alliance with the Korean people remains steadfast, especially during this period of rapid geopolitical change and emerging threats in the region." During the trip, Rep. Bera met with Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-what, Defense Minister Jeong Kyeongdoo, the Speaker and Members of the National Assembly, US Ambassador to the Republic of Korea Harry Harris, civil society leaders, representatives from leading Korean businesses, and local university students.
