Rep. Bera Statement on Trilateral Relationship between the United States, Japan, and South Korea

Rep. Ami Bera, M.D. (D-CA), Chair of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations and Co-Chair of the Congressional Caucus on Korea, released the following statement on the trilateral relationship between the United States, Japan, and South Korea:

"South Korea and Japan have and will continue to be important allies and friends to the United States. Both countries play a vital role in ensuring peace, stability, and security in the Indo-Pacific region," said, Rep. Ami Bera, M.D (D-CA), Chair of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations. "I am pleased to see that Congress overwhelmingly reaffirmed, in a bipartisan manner, the vital role of the trilateral relationship between the United States, Japan, and South Korea. During a time of increasing regional security threats and North Korean aggression, it's imperative that the United States engage leaders from both countries to prevent further deterioration of the relationship between Seoul and Tokyo."

On September 24, the House of Representatives passed H.Res.127, expressing the sense of the House of Representatives on the importance and vitality of the United States alliances with Japan and the Republic of Korea.
