Bera Leads Members Statement on U.S.-Japan 2+2 Ministerial

Today, Rep. Ami Bera, M.D. (D-CA), Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Asia, Rep. Steve Chabot (R-OH), Ranking Member of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Asia, and Reps. Joaquin Castro (D-TX) and Adrian Smith (R-NE), Co-Chairs of the U.S.-Japan Congressional Caucus, released the following statement on Secretary of State Blinken and Secretary of Defense Austin's trip to Japan and the U.S.-Japan 2+2 ministerial. "As long-time supporters of the U.S.-Japan alliance, we commend Secretary of State Blinken and Secretary of Defense Austin on a successful visit to Japan for their first trip abroad and participation in their first U.S.-Japan 2+2 ministerial meeting. The U.S.-Japan alliance continues to serve as the cornerstone of U.S. engagement in the Indo-Pacific and is critical to continued peace, prosperity, and security throughout the region.
