Representative Bera Co-Chairs House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee Hearing on U.S.-European Cooperation on China and the Broader Indo-Pacific
Washington, DC,
July 21, 2021
Yesterday, Representative Ami Bera, M.D. (D-CA), Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Asia, the Pacific, Central Asia, and Nonproliferation, co-chaired a subcommittee hearing on U.S.-European Cooperation on China and the Broader Indo-Pacific. Co-chairing the hearing alongside Chairman Bera was Representative William Keating (D-MA), Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Europe, Energy, the Environment, and Cyber. "We are strongest when we stand together and work with our allies and partners to advance an affirmative agenda focused on our comparative advantages of supporting freer, more prosperous societies, not when we are cowed in the face of rising authoritarianism, or lured into solely building a reactionary agenda," said Representative Bera. "That's why as Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Asia, I will continue to work with my colleagues in Congress and our European partners to advance our shared interests in a free and open Indo-Pacific. We all have a stake in making sure this vital region is secure and prosperous." |
