SACRAMENTO, CA – Representative Ami Bera, M.D. (D-CA) released the following statement on today's terrorist attacks in Afghanistan. "I join Americans across the country in mourning the tragic loss of U.S. service members killed in today's heinous terrorist attacks in Afghanistan. I send my deepest condolences to their families and loved ones, as well as those of the innocent Afghans killed. As a nation, we owe our deepest gratitude to our men and women in uniform who are heroically evacuating Americans and our Afghan partners. My thoughts will continue to be with them as they complete this dangerous but critical mission." Representative Bera serves as Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Asia, the Pacific, Central Asia, and Nonproliferation. |
