Rep. Bera’s Office Recovers Over $17 Million in Benefits for Sacramento County Residents

Since 2013, Congressman Bera’s office has returned more than $17 million in backlogged Social Security checks, delayed IRS refunds, and more

U.S. Representative Ami Bera, M.D. (CA-06) today announced that his office has now returned more than $17 million in federal casework dollars to residents in California’s 6th Congressional District.

Since taking office in 2013, Bera’s office has resolved more than 27,500 cases for constituents and returned over $17.6 million dollars in federal benefits. These casework dollars are secured by helping retrieve constituents’ backlogged veterans’ benefits, stalled tax refunds, Social Security and Medicare payments, and more.

"I am proud to share that my office has returned over $17 million in owed benefits to Sacramento County residents," said Representative Ami Bera. "Whether it’s expediting stalled tax refunds or assisting seniors with Medicare and Social Security payment delays, my office is committed to providing assistance. If you need help recovering your hard-earned federal benefits, please do not hesitate to reach out to my office.”

Constituents in need of assistance are encouraged to visit Bera’s website: bera.house.gov/casework or contact his office at (916) 635-0505.
