Today, U.S. Representative Ami Bera, M.D. (D-CA-06) issued a joint statement with his fellow Co-Chairs of the Congressional Caucus on Korea, Representatives Gerald E. Connolly (D-VA-11), Joe Wilson (R-SC-02), and Mike Kelly (R-PA-16), regarding the political unrest in the Republic of Korea:

“The US-ROK relationship is built on a shared commitment to democracy and democratic ideals.

“South Korea’s institutions have proven resilient and must continue to stand firm. As we continue to monitor these events, we join those urging calm, peace, and a return to democratic, constitutional order.”
