Middle East Resources
My office continues to monitor rapidly unfolding developments in the Middle East.
If you are a U.S. citizen currently traveling or residing in the region, I strongly urge you to register for the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) to receive important security updates and guidance from the nearest U.S. Embassy in the event of an emergency.
You can register at mytravel.state.gov.
Alerts can also be found on Travel.State.gov and on the website of the U.S. Embassy in the country you are visiting. Americans in the Middle East or their loved ones who need to reach Consular Affairs may call +1-202-501-4444 (from abroad) and +1-888-407-4747 (from the United States and Canada) for 24/7 service.
For Americans in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Israel, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, or Bahrain: U.S. Citizens should complete the Crisis Intake Form to let the U.S. Embassy know they are requesting assistance. Do not submit this form more than once. The form is available at the following link: https://mytravel.state.gov/s/crisis-intake
My team and I are here to help if you have any questions or require assistance. Please call 916-635-0505 during normal business hours or visit bera.house.gov/get-help to get in touch.
