Rep. Bera Votes for Bipartisan Package to Lower Food and Fuel Costs for Sacramento County Families

Representative Ami Bera, M.D. (CA-07) today voted for the Lower Food and Fuel Costs Act of 2022, a package of bipartisan bills to address the rising costs of basic needs like food and gas. "Every day, working families in Sacramento County are feeling the burden of rising prices at the grocery store and at the gas pump. As lawmakers, we must get beyond partisan talking points and start delivering real solutions to bring down the cost of these essential items," said Representative Bera. "Today's vote is an important step in addressing rising inflation that has been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic and strained supply chains. This bipartisan legislation will lower the impact of growing fertilizer costs that are driving up food prices and will reduce prices at the pump by expanding access to cheaper unleaded gas. I will continue to stay laser-focused on tackling inflation and bringing down rising food and fuel costs that are straining the pocketbooks of Sacramento families and small businesses."
