Rep. Bera Brings Home $32 Million for Local Projects in Government Funding Package

Funding will support infrastructure, water, and community safety projects

Representative Ami Bera, M.D. (CA-07) announced that he secured $32,787,591 in federal funding to support 15 local Sacramento-area projects in the Fiscal Year 2023 government funding package that passed the House of Representatives today. The funding package previously passed the Senate and now heads to President Biden’s desk for his signature into law.

“My top priority since entering Congress has been to make government work for Sacramento County,” said Representative Bera, M.D. “Today, I continue to deliver on that promise by proudly announcing that over $32 million in federal funding is coming to our community. This significant investment will help build a brighter and stronger future for Sacramento families and businesses.”

Rep. Bera championed 15 local projects that will receive Community Project Funding:

  • $4,000,000 for the Capital SouthEast Connector - D3a Class I Multi-Use Path
  • $2,500,000 for the Carmichael Water District for Aquifer Storage and Recharge Well #2
  • $540,000 for the Citrus Heights Police Department Emergency Communication Enhancements
  • $1,500,000 for the Citrus Heights Water District for the Highland Avenue Well Project
  • $950,000 for the Folsom Lake College, Folsom, CA for a prison and reentry program
  • $600,000 for the FosterHope Sacramento, Sacramento, CA for mental health and associated support services
  • $3,647,591 for the Gold Line Light Rail Station Conversions
  • $2,000,000 for the Laguna Creek Inter-Regional Trail Crossing at State Route 99
  • $1,500,000 for the Mather Community Campus Human Assistance Facility Renovation Project
  • $750,000 for the Meals on Wheels Sacramento Kitchen
  • $2,000,000 for the Old Town Streetscape Project Phase 2
  • $4,000,000 for the Riley Street Safety Improvements
  • $2,000,000 for the Sacramento Area Environmental Infrastructure (Orangevale), CA
  • $2,800,000 for the Sacramento County for a Regional Conjunctive Use Project
  • $4,000,000 for the White Rock Road – 0.5 Mile East of Rancho Cordova Parkway to Rio Del Oro Parkway
