Rep. Bera Secures $275,000 in House Appropriations Package to Support Housing Services for Sacramento-area Domestic Violence Survivors
If signed into law, funding would be used to complete renovations and improvements to WEAVE’s permanent supportive housing units
Today, Representative Ami Bera, M.D. (CA-07) announced that he helped secure $275,000 in the FY 2022 House Appropriations package to help complete renovations and improvements to WEAVE's permanent support housing units for domestic violence survivors in Sacramento County.
"As a doctor, I have seen firsthand the physical and emotional trauma of domestic and sexual violence. We must do more as a community to ensure domestic violence survivors have access to resources that empower them and protect them from future violence," said Representative Bera. "WEAVE has been an important community partner in providing crisis intervention services for survivors of domestic violence in Sacramento County. I'm proud to have secured $275,000 in the FY 2022 House Appropriations package to support renovations to WEAVE's permanent supportive housing units and improve accessibility, reducing barriers for survivors of domestic violence with disabilities and chronic health conditions."
