Rep. Bera Secures Over $1.2 Million in House Appropriations Package to Support Three Community Recreation Projects in Sacramento County
If signed into law, resources would support creation of the Rancho Cordova Youth Center, renovations to the Fair Oaks Community Clubhouse, and completion of the Tillotson Parkway bicycle and pedestrian trail
Today, Representative Ami Bera, M.D. (CA-07) announced that he secured $1.2 million for three Sacramento County community recreation projects. Funding for these projects were included in the House Labor-HHS and Transportation-HUD Fiscal Year 2022 Appropriations bills, which passed the House of Representatives today.
"The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the physical and mental health benefits associated with community activities and outdoor recreation. That's why I'm proud to have secured $1.2 million for three Sacramento County community recreation projects in the FY 2022 House Appropriations bills," said Representative Bera. "If signed into law, these resources would support the creation of the first-ever youth center in Rancho Cordova, help with renovations and accessibility upgrades to the Fair Oaks Community Clubhouse, and would support the construction of the final phase of the Tillotson Parkway trail."

The House Labor-HHS and Transportation-HUD Appropriations bills now head to the Senate for consideration. In total, Rep. Bera secured more than $2.5 million to support eight community funding projects for the Sacramento-region in the House passage of FY 2022 appropriations bills.
