Rep. Bera Statement on Gaza Peace Deal

SACRAMENTO, CA — Today, U.S. Representative Ami Bera, M.D. (CA-06), Ranking Member of the House Foreign Affairs East Asia and Pacific Subcommittee, released the following statement in response to the ceasefire and hostage release agreement reached between Israel and Hamas: 

“I am deeply relieved that a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas has been reached, bringing an end to two years of horrific violence, loss, and trauma. The agreement must now be swiftly implemented to reunite Israeli hostages with their families and scale up the delivery of humanitarian aid to civilians in Gaza, who have endured immense suffering throughout the war. This moment is a testament to the power of diplomacy and offers a critical opportunity to build a future where both Israelis and Palestinians can live in peace and dignity.”
