Government Shutdown Resources

The federal government has entered a shutdown as of 12:01 AM ET on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. A government shutdown can have wide-ranging impacts on our communities—from delays in federal services to uncertainty for federal workers, small businesses, and military families.

In these uncertain times, my top priority is making sure you and your family have the tools, information, and support you need. While many federal operations may pause, my Sacramento and Washington, D.C. offices will remain open and ready to assist you with time-sensitive issues such as Social Security, Medicare, tax refunds, veterans' benefits, immigration, and passports.

I also encourage you to contact my office to share how the shutdown is affecting you or your family. Below, you’ll find a comprehensive guide to local and federal resources available to help during the shutdown, including food assistance, mental health support, and low-cost health and dental care.
