Ami's Updates

2019 in Review

I wanted to take a moment to update you on the work we've done this year to help families and seniors across Sacramento County.

I'm proud to announce that my Sacramento office has helped nearly 2,000 people recover over $1.4 million owed to taxpayers in this year alone. That's hard-earned money right back into the pockets of Sacramento families, helping our region's economy.

I also want to let you know what we've accomplished in Washington. I'm proud to have helped pass over 275 bipartisan bills that will help Sacramento County. Here's more about our work in Congress over the last year:

Year in Review Graphic

Making healthcare more affordable - I've supported bills to strengthen the Affordable Care Act, lower the cost of prescription drugs, and protect people with preexisting conditions.

Supporting our troops - In our most recent National Defense Authorization Act, I voted for a well-deserved 3% pay raise for our brave service members.

Supporting equal pay - I cosponsored and voted for the Pay Check Fairness Act to grow an economy that works for women and families by closing the gender wage gap.

Please remember that my office is here to help you cut through bureaucracy with the federal government. That includes help with Social Security and Medicare issues, backlogged veterans' benefits, stalled tax refunds, and more. Need help with a federal agency? Visit our website or call us at (916) 635-0505.

My greatest privilege is to represent you in Congress. I'm proud of the work we've done this year, but there's a lot more work to do. You can keep up with me on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

And please always feel free to contact my office to share your thoughts – democracy works best when we keep in touch.
