Yesterday, Representative Ami Bera, M.D. (D-CA), Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Asia, the Pacific, Central Asia, and Nonproliferation, co-chaired a subcommittee hearing on U.S.-European Cooperation on China and the Broader Indo-Pacific. Co-chairing the hearing alongside Chairman Bera was Representative William Keating (D-MA), Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Europe, Energy, the Environment, and Cyber.
Today, the House of Representatives passed Representative Ami Bera's (D-CA) Securing America From Epidemics (SAFE) Act. The SAFE Act would authorize United States participation in the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI), a public-private partnership developing vaccines for COVID-19 and other highly infectious pathogens that could become the next global pandemic.
