Today, U.S. Representative Ami Bera (CA-06), Member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, joined Ranking Member Jim Himes and all committee Democrats in a letter to Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, calling for the Intelligence Community to conduct an independent investigation into the Signal group chat in which participants discussed detailed plans for an impending U.S. military attack on Houthi terrorists in Yemen.

“My staff has received an influx of calls from residents expressing concerns about the recent decision to freeze the delivery of essential resources to American communities, businesses, nonprofits and families.
U.S. Representatives Ami Bera, M.D. (D-CA), Ed Case (D-HI), Aumua Amata Radewagen (R-AS), Jill N. Tokuda (D-HI), and Steve Womack (R-AR) today introduced the Care for Compact of Free Association (COFA) Veterans Act, bipartisan legislation that authorizes the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to provide medical care to U.S. veterans living in the freely associated states (FAS) of the Republic of Palau, the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI), and the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM). Currently, the VA is not legally permitted to provide direct care to U.S.

Sacramento – Today, Congressman Ami Bera (CA-7) announced that Volunteers of America of Greater Sacramento and Northern Nevada, Inc. has received a grant of $1,226,241 from the Department of Veterans Affairs under the Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) program. The funding is directed to help very low-income veteran families around the nation who are permanently housed or transitioning to permanent housing, as well as services to prevent homelessness for veterans and their families.
