This evening, Rep. Ami Bera, M.D. (CA-06) released a statement following his vote to pass H.R. 7024 - Tax Relief for American Families and Workers Act of 2024, bipartisan tax legislation that delivers critical wins to hardworking families and small businesses in Sacramento County. The legislation passed by a vote of 357-70 on the House floor.

Today, Representatives Ami Bera, M.D. (D-CA) and Mario Díaz Balart (R-FL), co-chairs of the Congressional Taiwan Caucus, arrived in Taipei.

While there, the representatives will engage with senior officials and business leaders. The aim of the trip is to reaffirm U.S. support for Taiwan following their successful democratic elections, express solidarity in their shared commitment to democratic values, and explore opportunities to further strengthen the robust economic and defense relationship between the United States and Taiwan.

U.S. Representative Ami Bera, M.D. (CA-06) today released the following statement after voting with a bipartisan majority of the House of Representatives to avert a partial government shutdown and fund the government until March 1 and 8: 

“This afternoon, I voted for the latest bipartisan continuing resolution to keep the government open. While this legislation is necessary to keep the government functioning, governing from crisis to crisis is no way to run the government.

U.S. Representative Ami Bera, M.D. (CA-06) today announced that his office has now returned more than $17 million in federal casework dollars to residents in California’s 6th Congressional District.

Since taking office in 2013, Bera’s office has resolved more than 27,500 cases for constituents and returned over $17.6 million dollars in federal benefits. These casework dollars are secured by helping retrieve constituents’ backlogged veterans’ benefits, stalled tax refunds, Social Security and Medicare payments, and more.
