Today, U.S. Representative Ami Bera, M.D. (CA-06) introduced the bipartisan Global Alzheimer’s Initiative Now (GAIN) Act alongside Reps. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA-01) and Young Kim (R-CA-40).

Today, Representative Ami Bera, M.D. (CA-06) announced that the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) Office of Inspector General (OIG) has officially begun its audit of mail theft mitigation in Sacramento County.

This audit, launched in response to Congressman Bera’s request, addresses the growing concern over mail theft across the Sacramento region. The USPS Office of Inspector General is expected to release a report along with recommendations addressing mitigation and responses to mail theft.

Today, U.S. Representative Ami Bera, M.D. (CA-06) released a statement after voting to pass a bipartisan continuing resolution to avoid a government shutdown and fund the government through December 20th. The legislation passed by a vote of 341-82 on the House floor.

“This afternoon, I joined a strong bipartisan majority of my colleagues to ensure that our government remains open to serve the American people.

 U.S. Representative Ami Bera, M.D. (D-CA-06), along with U.S. Representative Larry Bucshon, M.D. (R-IN-08) and eight additional bipartisan colleagues, recently introduced the Penicillin Allergy Verification and Evaluation (PAVE) Act. This legislation would add a penicillin allergy verification component to the “Welcome to Medicare” preventive visit and annual wellness visits.

Today, U.S. Representative Ami Bera, M.D. (D-CA), Ranking Member of the House Foreign Affairs Indo-Pacific Subcommittee, Representative Rob Wittman (R-VA) and U.S. Senators Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) and Pete Ricketts (R-NE)—members of the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee—launched the bipartisan House and Senate Quad Caucuses. 

This announcement comes ahead of this weekend’s Quad Leaders Summit in Wilmington, Delaware where President Biden will welcome heads of state from Australia, India, and Japan.
